Concrete or paver patio

Concrete can be cheaper and quicker to install.  Pavers can be of better quality and easier to repair.

Both materials have their pros and cons.  We lean towards pavers again and again.  They may take a bit to install but in that there is diversity of design.  They are evolving and come in a variety of colors and can be permeable.  Pavers may shift over time with freeze and thaw cycles but can be reset or even repaired easily if broken.

Although concrete has also developed with new colors, stamping and permeability it does not weather well. It is the one thing we have experienced across the board and we tell all our clients –  no matter what concrete, it will always crack. It may be a few months or a few years, but it will always happen. You can install extra structure to help hold it together, but that doesn’t guarantee anything really.

Each material has it’s place.  You decide what is right for you….g
