Lawncare tips: Spring

Our lawn care manager wants to remind everyone that winter can have lasting damage on the turf grass. One easy practice you can do to help prevent and minimize disease and damage is simply raking. Winter can bring lots of snow and ice, with it gravel, sand, and salt to combat all that precipitation.

  • Removing that debris from your lawn particularly along the street curb, sidewalks and driveway will help the grass green up.
  • Raking removes salt that can dehydrate the blades and toxify the roots of any surrounding plants. It breaks up compacted snow that can allow molds and fungus to grow if not melting and drying out quickly enough.
  • Lastly, raking can help remove excess thatch and bring air flow to the surface of the soil.

Don’t skimp on the spring chores. With our without regular lawn this simple step will help your grass be greener on your side for once.
